Growing up in NYC, I have developed an intimate relationship with the NYC subway system. Drawing inspiration from the MTA Arts & Design's "Art Card", this painting aims to highlight the beautiful intricacies of subway culture at its peak during a period when the system, mechanically, was at an all-time low. The painting is depicted through the lens of the 1968 Beatles film 'Yellow Submarine'. In the film's concluding sequence, the song title ‘All Together Now’ flashes in different languages, which draws comparisons to the MTA’s signage in multiple languages and speaks directly to the experience of its passengers.
